Forum Meets RBI Governor-Pension updation

Executive Committee Members of the Forum of Retired Employees of RBI, Chennai and the United Forum of Officers and Employees of RBI met RBI Governor separately at Chennai on 10th July 14.

Present among others in the meeting were Sri R. Gandhi, Dy.Governor, Dr.Sadakkadulla, Regional Director (TN).
The Forum of the Retired Employees requested the governor to use his good offices for implementation of Pension updation at the earliest. They also requested for enhancement of Ex-gratia amount to the Pre-1986 retirees. They stated that this issue was within the powers of the Governor.

The Forum submitted a written appeal to Governor in support of these requests.

Regarding enhancement of the ex-gratia, Governor assured to look into the matter. Regarding the issue of Pension updation, he said that he will ensure a fair settlement at the earliest.

UFRBO&E  discussed the issue of Re-organisation of Bank’s functions.

United forum also stressed for opening of Pension option and early implementation of updating the Pension without compromising the interests of the in-service employees.

    The way Governor responded to the issue of Pension updation and pension option saying that he will ensure a fair settlement at the earliest,we can fairly assume that nothing will happen in the near future.

      This is more or less like showing the fodder and drawing the sheep! Couldn’t we have gone to the apex court and sought justice in view of their earlier judgments on pension (and the need for updating it from time to time) in favour of pensioners?
